Tell Us Your Story

We need personal stories of present or former inmates to help spread the word about Texas county jail conditions. Here are some tips on how to tell your story effectively:

• Make it short and list specific conditions or bad treatment
• Please tell us the name of the jail or its location, like:
  Doe County Jail
  City Jail in Anytown, Texas
• Remember to give us report only on a local city or county jail; if you have a prison or state jail story, check out the ACLU site: http://www.aclutx.org/projects/prisonspg.php?pid=84
• You can be anonymous, but we ask you to please use your name. The story has more value as a truthful record with your name attached.
• Please give us a way to contact you: phone number or address. This will not be posted along with your story, and will be kept confidential by our staff and used only to contact you regarding your story
