- About
Diana chose Austin as home after growing up all over Texas and Southern California.
For more than 20 years, historical research and writing and journalism have been the focus of her working life; she has written hundreds of newspaper and magazine articles.
She has never fogotten the experience of visiting the Ferguson Unit near Huntsville in the 1960s, where her stepbrother was incarcerated. Later, she visited mothers and childrene imprisoned in Laredo, in one of the first private prison company lockups for Central American refugees—and wrote a story about their situation. Then she listened to and visited Diane Wilson, her friend, who was locked up for protesting and trespassing, and that is how she discovered what more than 70,000 Texans face inside their own county jails.
Diana lives in the 04 zip code with painter David Elliott, a small flock of banties, two dogs and many interesting neighbors.
