Can you Volunteer? Help TJP help others

Jul 29th, 2015 | Category: Featured Articles

Sometimes when we hear of an inmate in a difficult or dangerous situation, we reach out to a chaplain. In other cases, a Mom or Dad really needs a chaplain to check on their daughter or son that has sounded dispondent. In one recent case, a chaplain was able to confirm that the incarcerated persion was receiving treatment for recently diagnosed cancer, and TJP raised the issue and the inmate was released so he could receive treatment on the outside while awaiting disposition of his case.

TJP’s tiny staff has to find the time to call each jail, ask if they have a staff chaplain or a volunteer chaplain, find out which religions are represented, and how to contact those chaplains. Let us know if you can help, and we’ll give you a partial list of jails to call and email, to gather this info for us to put on our website!
Thanks very much!
