During the review of mental disabilities/suicide prevention training, staff were only able to provide documentation indicating 3 of 11 staff members received the training during CY2024. As of the close of this inspection, no jailers have completed training for CY2025. Staff were advised provisions for staff training (including frequency and duration) on the procedures for recognition, supervision, documentation, and handling of inmates who are mentally disabled and/or potentially suicidal, shall be conducted in accordance with minimum standards.
During the review of TCOLE Jailer Licenses, it was determined that seven staff members were performing jailer duties without holding a valid license. . The inspector also coordinated with TCOLE, which conducted a licensing audit to further assess non- compliance.
During the review of recreation logs, staff could not produce documentation indicating inmates were offered recreation during the month of September 2025 as requested by this inspector.
