Diana Claitor

Diana ClaitorDiana chose Austin as home after growing up all over Texas and Southern California.  For more than 20 years, historical research and journalism have been the focus of her working life. In addition to writing hundreds of newspaper and magazine article, Claitor also taught and tutored at Austin Community College. She was inspired to start the jail project by her friend Diane Wilson, who was locked up for protesting and trespassing on the property of a Gulf Coast petrochemical plant. Claitor and her husband, artist David H. Elliott, live in South Austin with dogs, banties and fish.
