TDCJ Resources
I am so sorry to hear about your loved one.
I am sorry but we have no expertise or experience to help people in TDCJ. Our work is focused only on county jails
Listed are some resources to assist with your complaint to TDCJ
- Online: Use the TDCJ Independent Ombudsman webform.
- Mail: Send your complaint to the Independent Ombudsman at PO Box 99, Huntsville, TX 77342.
- Email: Email your complaint to io@tdcj.texas.gov.
- Reach out to Texas Prison Advocates. Amite Dominick <amite.dominick@tpcadvocates.org>
- You may reach out to TX Inmate Families Association https://tifa.org/advocacy/ for support. They’ve have a very active FB community groups page (https://www.facebook.com/groups/texasinmatefamilies/about/)
Important Considerations:
- Non-criminal and non-medical complaints: The Ombudsman’s office handles complaints that are not related to medical issues or criminal acts. Complete the online form below, which will be sent to the Office of the Independent Ombudsman.
- Medical issues: Submit complaints about medical concerns to health.services@tdcj.texas.gov.
- Criminal acts or conduct: Submit complaints about criminal acts or conduct to oig@tdcj.texas.gov.
