- While reviewing the mental health screening documentation, this inspector observed that the jail staff is not completing the mental health screening form in its entirety. This inspector could not verify that the jail is notifying the magistrate as required by Article 16.22 of the code of criminal procedures.
- While conducting a walkthrough of the jail, this inspector observed the facility to be unclean in many areas. There were garbage containers without lids in the kitchen and multiple issues throughout the jail in regards to the maintenance of toilets, lavatories, showers and other equipment.
- While reviewing the health inspection documentation, it was determined that a health inspection of the kitchen has not been conducted since June 13, 2017.
This jail has stayed on the non-compliant list for more than 6 months now!
