While investigating complaint #44135 it was discovered that the local mental health authority did not diagnose or screen new inmates for mental health issues unless subjects were in crisis and had to be transferred on an emergency detention order to an outside source to get diagnosed.
During the investigation of complaint #44135, documentation revealed that Victoria County Health Service Plans were not being followed. It was discovered that inmates seeking mental health services were not afforded the services of a mental health provider as per operational plans. Inmates not currently on mental health medication were not taken before a mental health provider to begin mental health services as requested on sick calls.
